We are an interior construction company, founded in 1964 and located in Strijen, specialized in the production and installation of exclusive interiors, particularly for very luxurious yachts. We operate in the top segment of the market and work for renowned Dutch yacht builders and architects.
With approximately 110 permanent employees supplemented by a flexible workforce, we work daily on the realization of customer-specific assignments. What will you do
As a working foreman for work preparation, you are responsible for leading and developing the work preparation department within Struik Interiors. This department is responsible for making the technical and administrative preparations and instructions for all production activities. This includes the work sequence in the form of a step-by-step plan, work documents, and production statements necessary for the optimal production of the respective production item. Regular discussions with various production departments ensure that work preparation is carried out in a way that meets the client’s requirements and can be made as efficiently as possible with our (modern) production facilities.
As a working foreman, you provide instructions to employees, check the quality of the work, and actively participate in the work. You ensure the right work distribution, provide necessary information, and ensure that the established planning is achieved within the budget. You oversee order, cleanliness, health, and safety in your department and take action as needed.
In addition to working within the team, your tasks include:
- Coordinating activities;
- Transmitting insight and experience to colleagues;
- Monitoring the daily progress of activities and taking action in case of disruptions;
- Keeping an eye on capacity and taking action when necessary;
- Creating team spirit in the department;
- Conducting evaluation and progress conversations with employees together with the department manager;
- Developing quality and standards.
What we require
For this position, we are looking for a colleague with a completed relevant (technical) vocational education at least at the MBO level and 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a project-driven production environment, preferably in interior construction or yacht building. You have experience in leading people and possess good computer skills. You are decisive and stress-resistant, think in solutions, and have a positive attitude.
